A message from the Executive Director

A message from the National Director

INTRODUCTION FROM SUZANNA GRATIA HUPP Texas State Representative

Dear Concerned Americans,

Suzanna Gratia HuppI was recently introduced to a new organization called Armed Females of America. I met the AFA Executive Director, Carma Lewis, while attending the Second Amendment Sisters' Rally in Washington D.C., Mothers' Day 2000. We were both enlisted as speakers to illustrate the opposing view to the so-called Million Mom March.

Although Carma has suffered a mother’s greatest fear -- the death of her child at the hands of an evil, twisted, individual with a gun -- she has excelled at “keeping her head” and using logical arguments when there were so many women on the other side who seemed to believe that firearms take on a life of their own and who fail to recognize how often weapons are used to DEFEND lives and families.

I am pleased that she is now leading an intelligent, pro-gun women’s group to counter the emotion-driven scare tactics used by anti-gun groups attempting to steal more of our hard-won rights.

Gun control in America has been a colossal failure and is becoming a national embarrassment. AFA will help prove that there are well-educated, “thinking” women, wives, and mothers who do not support this insanity, but who DO believe in the right to defend one’s self and family and who understand the importance of our Second Amendment.

I am certain that with Carma and her National Director, Lori Broadhead at the helm, their no-compromise attitude toward our gun rights will lead this organization into the national arena.

I am looking forward to visiting the AFA site frequently and learning from the contributions other women are making to our cause.

Yours for Freedom and Liberty,

Suzanna Gratia Hupp
Representative, Texas State Legislature

Frequently Asked Questions:

Why another pro-gun women's group?

We realize there are other groups out there that women can join, but the AFA message is significantly different. AFA has taken a NO-COMPROMISE position by calling for the repeal of ALL gun laws back to and including the National Firearms Act of 1934. AFA is serious about restoring our Rights as originally intended by our Founding Documents. If you're looking for a women's organization to exchange cooking recipes, talk about child rearing or stitchery, then this is not the place for you.

Why an AK47 instead of an American made firearm, such as a M16?

Actually, we chose the AK47 because it is so recognizable. It's the very firearm that the anti-freedom groups want "you" to fear. Frankly, I don't care where my firearm of choice is made, or for that matter who manufactures it. What matters to us at AFA is that we retain the right to own "ANY" firearm that we choose, as guaranteed and SECURED by the US Constitution. We refuse to be victimized by left-thinking in that the AK, or any firearm, is evil! A gun, is a gun, is a gun. The function of the AK is no different than any other semi-auto firearm. In fact it has been used to help liberate many oppressed nations. We view the AK47 as a symbol of FREEDOM!

What is the significance of the "eye" in your banner?

The eye is a subtle message to our lawmakers and the other anti-freedom organizations in our society that says WE ARE WATCHING YOU! We are watching for any intrusions against our rights. When we see and hear their lies, we will publicly call them on it, and hold their feet to the fire!

What do you mean in your Mission Statement by NO-COMPROMISE?

We, as citizens and gun owners, have already given up our rights to the tune of over 20,000 gun laws. Giving something up without getting anything in return is not compromise -- it's SURRENDER! Now is the time for the anti-freedom, gun grabbers to give us back our RIGHTS!

Why does your message seem so strident?

To some, our message may sound extreme. If you listen to the rhetoric of the anti's, more often than not, they are far more strident. Our position at AFA is, any persons, or groups that publicly (or privately) call for the destruction of any part of our Bill of Rights are the REAL extremists!

Are you planning on AFA chapters around the country?

Yes! We would like to have one or more AFA chapters in each state. AFA is currently recruiting members we hope will emerge as leaders in our movement. At the moment AFA is recruiting State and Regional Directors. If you, or anyone you know, might be interested in a leadership position with AFA, please contact us by e-mail.

Okay! I like what I am hearing, how do I become a member?

For your convenience you may join AFA by using our secure on-line merchant account from the convenience of your home. Our secure on-line merchant account is set up to accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. You may also join by printing our application form and mailing it back to us at the address at the bottom of the form. Enclose a check or money order for the amount of the selected membership. We look forward to having you join us in the fight to take back our Rights!

As of July 1, 2005 Armed Females of America stopped accepting memberships. If you have mailed an application along with a check we will contact you to ask if you want your check returned, or used as a donation for Armed Females to continue our fight against the continued attacks on our freedoms.
