ARMED FEMALES IS LOOKING FOR A ‘FEW GOOD PATRIOTS’!

Carma Jackson, AFA Executive Director

CarmaThe life of a bullet is relatively short lived, the trajectory is straight and its life is over as soon as it hits its target. In comparison, the life of a child is expected to endure the pitfalls of childhood and reach adulthood. The life of a child takes many turns and twists and one can never keep up with its pace.

One normal, routine New Years eve in 1991 my 12 year old son Joey, while preparing to spend the evening celebrating with some friends, and a bullet met and both their lives ended in one tragic and horrific moment in time. At that moment my life and the lives of the rest of my family changed forever.

Joey’s father pretty much abandoned the family and went into depression. I had 5 other children to care for and help with their grief. I never had a chance to grieve the loss of my son. Over time I became able to accept my loss, but not the lack of remorse by his killer, or the lack of compassion by the juvenile justice system. God doesn't give any guarantees how long we will be on this earth. My son could have been the victim of an auto accident, or he could have drowned in a swimming pool, or he could have died of a drug overdose while experimenting with drugs like most kids these days do. The other causes of childhood mortality could go on forever. Those are the real concerns mothers should have about their children’s safety.

Compared to these, firearm accidents involving children are so low they don’t even show up on our maternal radarscope. They have blamed Joey’s death on the evil proliferation of firearms. Bull! It took an idiotic, irresponsible and evil hearted person to pull the trigger. In this case another child who bragged about how easy it would be to kill someone and get away with it. Right! And they still blame the gun.

On Mothers Day 2000, I attended and spoke at the Armed Informed Mothers March in Washington D. C. with the Second Amendment Sisters and told my story about Joey. That was the beginning of my activism. I will never again allow the proponents of gun control to use the tragic death of my son to further their sick anti-American agenda. I am a member of other pro gun groups and I have formed AFA as an organization who will meet the Million Mom Marchers and counter their millions of ill gotten donations with the truth about their agenda. Pure and simple they are out for our guns, no matter what they say in their press releases. This has nothing to do with “saving the children”. This is a sympathetic and emotional approach to eventual gun confiscation.

Their lies must be met head on with no compromise and certainly no quarter given, or asked. This is a battle for our very survival. I am calling for others who have lost loved ones in this tragic and preventable way, so we can come together with our stories and explain to the world that even though we have lost loved ones to firearms, it is not the fault of an inanimate object, but the fault of a society that places a higher value on personal, material and emotional needs over the lives of others.

The government clones, who would wet themselves if they so much as touched a gun, need to accept our resolve in our defense of our Rights. Let’s face it, these people are unreachable, uncooperative, and unintelligent, who frankly, are not worth our time. They want to believe their rhetoric, so let them. They’ll be the ones, God bless them, standing naked in line to dig their own graves in the next holocaust, thinking, “why didn’t I listen?”With God is our witness that will not happen to us, and our families!

They may take our guns, but one bullet at a time! We believe that women have been quiet in the gun battle for several reasons. 1) It’s not “lady-like”to talk about battling for anything. 2) It’s not politically correct for women to protect themselves with a gun, kill for food and sport, or target practice. 3) Women, especially “moms”tend to reason with emotion, not fact. 4) They haven’t educated themselves about the gun battle because they don’t perceive our rights being in an imminent danger of extinction. 5) They feel like the topic of guns, politics, and Rights makes them appear less feminine. 6) They aren’t taken seriously by society when they do talk about guns.

Our goal at AFA is to stand on a mile-high soap box and convince other women that it’s okay to stand up for your rights; it’s okay to own a gun; it’s okay to admit that you enjoy guns and that you and your family own guns. It’s okay to protect yourself and your family with a gun; it’s okay to defend your country against foreign and domestic enemies with guns; it’s okay to learn all you can so you sound intelligent when you speak about guns and our rights; it’s okay to be patriotic, and it’s admirable to preach to others about gun rights. It’s okay to dispel the myths that anti-liberty groups would want you to believe; it’s okay to tell your Congressperson how you feel; it’s okay to teach your children how to safely operate a gun, and it’s desirable to know and understand how threatened our Second Amendment and other liberties really are.

We intend to teach other women that it’s necessary to teach their children about the history of our country, what our Forefathers gave up for our freedom, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Pledge of Allegiance. We all need to teach our children to be proud of being an American again. After September 11, it’s “cool”to be patriotic again and we are asking you to step out with us against the muddle-headed morons who deny our freedoms and our way of life. We envision an organization for AFA that will unite gun owners, recruit women to gun ownership, shooting sports, tactical training, and self-defense with a gun.

This organization will take women under its wing, help them out of the shadows of being socially suppressed and stereotyped as soft-hearted “mommies”who don’t want to rock the boat, or who don’t really have any opinion about guns and our rights. The loud voice of the few does not represent the quiet heart of the many who are the silent majority.

These bystanders don’t feel comfortable stepping forward for fear of ridicule. Our job is to give these women a voice, give them a safe platform in which they can speak their mind, learn the truth, and have others listen and agree. We will supply women with the facts, information, training material, and places to turn for help and education. Our voices will unite with ideas on how to spread the word, how to reach more women, and encourage each other to continue. When women get behind something, there’s no stopping our passion.

We intend to take the hand of the bashful and lead the way. We intend to educate the indifferent so they’re comfortable in knowing we have truth and facts on our side. We intend to reassure the cautious by showing them that they’re not alone, surrounding them with confident women who are proud to admit they’re gun owners, and empowering them to speak out.

We intend to re-ignite patriotism in the discouraged by convincing them that their efforts do count. We intend to incite passion like you’ve never felt in the no-compromise gun rights activism by introducing women to other energized women who are eager to fight the good fight. In other words, if you’ve been waiting for us to come along before you got active in protecting your rights, you’re not too late! Together, we can make gun ownership seem as everyday, mundane, run-of-the-mill, and ubiquitous as owning a cell phone.

Gun ownership should be expected, not feared. We want to help women teach their children about guns, so the next generation has a firm foothold in preserving our gun rights and FREEDOM. Intelligent, patriotic women are a force to be reckoned with who demand respect. We just need to tap into that part of them, supply them with the truth, and bolster their pride and activism. Then give them a nudge in the right direction. If we build it, they will come!

When we get a groundswell going, after other women find us, we’ll be able to say, “Take us seriously! We’re stepping forward to take a patriotic stand against a tyrannical government, against fascist politicians, against a biased media, and against liberal groups who are intent on stealing our Birthrights.”We can hold our heads up high, look them in the eye and say, “Don’t you dare get in our way, because pride, honor, and truth will prevail!

Armed Females of America has been in the works for quite some time. I feel that at this time we are at the crossroads of our future of America. Now is the time to be breaking out of our comfort zones and stretching and reaching for our lost rights. Our recent national disasters have left the anti’s in an uncomfortable position. At first they didn’t know whether to forge ahead with their agenda or pull back.

Now that they have regained their equilibrium we are starting to see reports that they are blaming gun shows and .50 BMG’s for the terror attacks. Now is not the time to rest! Now is the time for preemptive strikes against the soft vulnerable underbellies of the left. We can’t let them get away with their tricks! The goals that I have stated above are only hollow, meaningless words without the help of you, a fellow believer. Please consider joining me in this fight. Together we will make a difference.

After January 2002 AFA will start a membership drive in earnest. We will be offering a training certificate to Front Sight in Las Vegas, Nevada for a defensive firearm course of your choice as a give away to some lucky member. Those who chose to join ahead of time will not be excluded from participation in the drawing. We are also looking for women to assume a leadership role in AFA. That may be taking on a state directorship, media spokesperson, writing articles, or firearm instructors.

We each have talents to add to any organization…whatever your talent, let us use it! Are you up for the battle? If so, we are not looking for mass membership numbers. If you will, we are looking for squad members in a unique and elite team of warriors who are not afraid to speak of their own patriotism or pride. If you are looking for a place where you can speak loudly and proudly about your beliefs, AFA is for you. AFA will support your efforts without judgment…as long as it’s legal!

A printable membership application form is available on our web site, with information for membership and where to send the application. For your convenience you may also make a contribution or join Armed Females of America by using our secure online merchant account. At the present time we are set up to take Visa, Mastercard and Discover credit cards. We are committed to the battle, won’t you join us?
