The Lesser of Two Evils, is still Evil!

By Nicki Fellenzer

Your elected officials and their appointed bureaucrats are shredding the Bill of Rights – slowly, gradually and systematically. Where is your voice?

People are being prosecuted, rotting in prison, disarmed, helpless against the tyrants they have entrusted with the power to protect them. People like Ron Dixon, Melvin Spaulding, Jose Acosta, Manuel Falquez and so many others, who want only to protect themselves, the lives of their loved ones and their property are being punished. Where is your outrage?

NickiA President, who claims to support the Second Amendment, vows to sign a worthless, useless “assault” weapons ban, that threatens to jail thousands more for merely owning a piece of property cowardly bureaucrats condemn as “lethal.” And yet you will vote for him as the “lesser of two evils”?

A band of arrogant so-called “justices” refuse to do their job – refuse to interpret the Constitution of the United States – haughtily, ignorantly and without so much as an explanation of why they would ignore a Constitutional question which has been debated for decades. And you sigh with relief? And you claim we should wait for the right court?

A court appointed by the same tyrannical politician who claims he will sign the renewal of the “assault” weapons ban?

A court selected by the same government that brought you the Patriot Act, DARPA and Patriot Act II?

A court appointed by the same cowardly leeches, who don’t even have the gonads to break a filibuster by their opposition?

What are you waiting for?

Are you waiting for Republicans to save you? They won’t.

Are you waiting for John Ashcroft to back up his supercilious claims of honoring and respecting the Second Amendment? Don’t count on it.

Are you waiting for President George W. Bush to win reelection and appoint a court more favorable to our cause? Don’t hold your breath.

We are drowning here, folks and we need to wake up before it’s too late.

Our Bill of Rights is being shredded by the same people who swore an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution. Our rights are being destroyed by the very people whom we elected to preserve them. And our freedoms are being traded on the auction block like fresh meat for the politicians’ grinder.

Those of you who gloat with glee and smile with relief at the Supreme Court’s refusal to grant certiorari to Silveira vs. Lockyer, let me ask you a question:

Why are you so happy?

Are you so happy because you know that, much like the politicians you elect to office election after election, these justices are cowardly traitors who are afraid to affirm what is plainly written in the Law of the Land?

If that’s the case, if you know that your country is being controlled by petty tyrants and their puppets, why in the world are you celebrating?

Are you happy because you were afraid that the Supreme Court would arrive at a bad decision?

If that’s the case, if you know that these alleged “learned scholars” would reach the wrong conclusion about what is plainly written in the Bill of Rights, why are you rejoicing at their ignorance?

Are you afraid of the truth?

Are you afraid to confirm what you already know deep in your gut – that there’s not much left of our Republic, of our Constitution and of our rights and freedoms to salvage?

Don’t get me wrong. I’m angry about the Supreme Court’s arrogant, haughty refusal to settle a decades-old question that could have a profound effect on Freedom itself. But my anger doesn’t stop there.

I’m angry that this oath means so little to George W. Bush, that he is willing to violate it and ignore it to garner a few votes and win himself more power:

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

I’m angry that the Senators and Congressman entrusted by the people of the United States to preserve and protect their rights and freedoms unilaterally ignore this mandate to perpetuate their own power.

The Constitution says: “The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution.”

And I am angry that these leeches ignore this directive, because they’re too mediocre to stand up for its merits and too cowardly to face the challenges of doing so.

Meanwhile, as the politicians put their heads together in a futile attempt to develop yet another scheme that will paint them as benevolent rulers who are taking definitive steps to protect the people who put them in power, instead of miserable, powerless mediocrities, Melvin Spaulding could be charged with attempted murder for defending his elderly friend with a firearm as three violent thugs were kicking him to the ground. Mr. Spaulding is disarmed, even though no formal charges have been brought against him yet, and forced to rely on the same system that imprisoned him for doing what its agents failed to do for his safety.

Meanwhile, as the pernicious creatures who run this country stumble all over themselves to show themselves as fearless crime fighters, while disarming law abiding citizens, a dedicated father and military veteran was forced to spend several days in prison for protecting his family without the permission of the petty tyrants who expected Ron Dixon to depend on the very system they corrupted and emasculated for his family’s safety.

Meanwhile, as the politicians bargain away your rights, your freedoms and gradually enslave you to their whims, political prisoners in this country are rotting, defenseless, persecuted for simply exercising their rights.

Where is your voice?

Will you simply shuffle to the polls once again on Election Day and vote for yet another tyrant who will use the Constitution to wipe his derriere?

Where is your outrage?

Will you read the newspapers, watch TV reports and read Internet news, stew in your own juices at the demise of our freedoms, but refuse to write a single letter or make a single phone call to help restore your rights?

Where is your heart?

Will you watch as your fellow Americans get victimized and terrorized by their own government and sigh with relief that it’s not you?

I have a sneaking suspicion that a vast number of you reading this today will do just that. I’m saddened by it, but I’ve seen no proof to the contrary. My heart aches to see so much apathy on behalf of my fellow Americans. I can only hope that those of you who rage and bleed and tear your heart out at the injustice that is perpetrated on our countrymen daily by those who have been entrusted with the sacred duty of upholding our freedoms keep your vision, keep a close watch on your future, and steel your resolve.

I get the feeling the worst is yet to come.
